My Letter to Sam Johnson

I want to express to you my disappointment in your recent yea vote on H.R. 4040. I understand that there is a lot of public fear regarding lead in children's toys, however this measure took that fear and used it to irresponsibly increase spending.

As a republican I'm committed to the concept of limiting government. Equally as important is the idea of balancing our national budget, and this represents the kind of action that leads us further into debt. I'm concerned to see such quick addition of funds to a system that hasn't seemed to be effective with what it was already given, on top of the now standard inclusion of multiple unrelated measures, such as garage door openers and lighters.

I would be honored and thrilled to read any response or information you might have indicating why you chose to support this measure. In the meantime I disagree and would ask you as my representative to vote against measures that seek to increase funding to ineffective programs, even to placate public perception of danger.
Why we should fortify our house

Mayor's Dogs Killed over mistaken weed

There may not be much that can be done to prevent it, but I can only envision how irate I'd be if some worked up cops showed up at my house and shot my dog because they thought some package of government(our new God)-forsaken weed was somehow connected to me. Then imagine them holding you in your underwear next to your mother in law in handcuffs next to your dead dog questioning you for a couple hours. Big question to ask yourself, "Whom do you fear most, pot dealers, or police?"
